<p><em>Paid or unpaid employment of tourists in Brazil is strictly prohibited.</em></p>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong><br />
- Applicant passport, valid for no less than six months from the date of expiration. The passport must have at least 3 blank visa pages;</p>
<p>- One recent individual passport-sized photograph, full frontal, white background.</p>
<p>- One visa application form, duly filled out, signed by the applicant (parents must sign for minors under 18 years old). The application form can be filled out on the site <a href="https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/frscedv" target="_blank">https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/frscedv</a> and must be printed out, on sheet size A4.</p>
<p>- Proof of residence in the area of <a href="http://www.brazilshanghai.cn:81/">jurisdiction</a> of the Consulate General, if the applicant’s passport has been issued elsewhere in China.</p>
<p>- Print out of itinerary or letter from travel agent/airline, confirming booking of round-trip, including dates of departure and return from Brazil.</p>
<p>- Hotel reservation in Brazil.</p>
<p>- Proof of means of support during the applicant’s stay in Brazil:<br />
* Bank and/or credit card statements for the last three months;<br />
* Evidence of applicant’s employment and leave.</p>
<p>- If the applicant is a student/ a minor: the proof of means of support during the applicants stay in Brazil must be presented by his/her parents.</p>
<p>- If the applicant is retired: proof of retirement and/or pension payment slip.</p>
<p>- If the applicant’s is visiting friends or family in Brazil: a notarized letter from the sponsor in Brazil, with detailed information on documents and address of the sponsor, as well as information on the address where the applicant will stay in Brazil, if not in a hotel.</p>
<p>- Whenever applicable (i.e., for participants in athletic competitions, performing arts events, conferences or seminars): copy of letter from sponsor/organizer providing specific information on the activity to be performed and location and duration of the activity/event. The letter must state that the participant will not receive payment and that no tickets will be sold for the event.</p>
<p><strong>Special requirements for minors:</strong><br />
- The original birth certificate and a copy. Copies presented without the original birth certificate must be notarized.<br />
- A notarized letter of consent, signed by the parent not traveling with the minor, or by both parents, if the minor is traveling alone (if the minor is traveling with both parents this letter is not necessary if all names appear on the itinerary and both parents are applying for the visa at the same time).</p>
<p><strong>NOTE: </strong>The requirements listed above should not, in any way, be considered all-inclusive. The Consulate General may request additional information, as deemed necessary.</p>

<p>Original Brazilian documents to be presented must be notarized in Brazil. Original Chinese documents must be notarized by FAO and legalized by the Consulate General. Legalization fee applies.  All documents must be presented with two copies. Photocopies of documents will only be accepted if authenticated. Authentication fee applies if authenticated by the Consulate General.</p>
<p>This type of visa requires prior authorization from the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations.</p>
<p><strong>Requirements :</strong><em><br />
For applications for this typo of visa, a two-stage procedure applies. </em></p>
<p><strong>Requirements:<br />

If the marriage was performed outside Brazil, copy of the “Certidão de Registro de Casamento”, drawn by the Brazilian Consulate (or by the Consular Service of the Brazilian Embassy) that has jurisdiction over the state or province where the wedding took place and<br />
ii) For non Brazilian applicants, if also applying for the visa to immediate family members or to one other eligible family member, presentation, as applicable, of applicant’s marriage certificate, birth certificate, or official court or state-issued document attesting to those eligibility conditions.</p>
<p>Once informed by the Consulate General that application has been approved, the visa will be issued. Applicant must submit to the Consulate General.</p>

<p><strong>Requirements:<br />
</strong><em>All Applicantes for work visas must be presented in Brazil, by the Brazilian Interested party, to the Local Office of Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE).</em></p>
<p><em>After the Ministry of Labor and Employment informs the Consulate General of it’s approval of a specific request, the Consulate may proceed with the processing of the respective work visa.</em></p>
<p><em>Once approved by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, the following requirements for a work visa have to be met:</em></p>
<p>- Applicant’s passport, valid for no less than six months from the date of expiration. The passport must have  at least 3 blank visa pages;</p>

<p>Whenever planned stay exceeds 90 days, VISA IV holders  must register with the Brazilian Immigration Authority (Federal Police – DPMAF) within 30 days from first arrival in the country, by submitting the passport along with an original visa application form that will be returned to the applicant by the Consulate General.</p>
<p>The student visa will be issued for a maximum of one year. It may be extended in Brazil at the discretion of the Brazilian Immigration authority (Federal Police: DPMAF), if requested at least 30 days prior to the expiration of the authorized stay (special requirements apply), according to the duration of the study and documentation presented to local authority.</p>
<p>Bearers of Student Visa are not allowed to work.</p>
<p>Brazilian documents to be presented must be notarized in Brazil. Chinese documents must be notarized by FAO and legalized by the Consulate General. Legalization fee will apply.</p>

<p><strong> Eligibility:</strong><br />
* Business meetings to discuss sales or purchase of goods and services; to close an export or import deal; to evaluate ongoing operation or existent contract; to explore investment opportunities, relocation, outsourcing.<br />
<em> Please be advised that if the trip involves the provision of services, such as technical assistance, installation, maintenance or repair of equipment, a Work Visa (<a href="http://www.brazilshanghai.cn:81/?cat=28">VITEM-V</a>)  is required.</em><br />
* Participant/exhibitor in a workshop or trade/industrial exhibition.<br />
* Journalists (non correspondents, ie, on a short term visit).<br />
* Media coverage and/or film making.<br />
* Flight/ship crew members without an international crew card, except if working on ship operating offshore, in which case a VITEM-V is mandatory.</p>
<p><strong>Please note: </strong>Business visa holders are not allowed to engage in any activity under employment contract with a Brazilian organization/corporation or provide technical assistance services (such as installation, service and/or repair of equipment), in which case a Work Visa (VITEM V) is mandatory.</p>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong><br />
- Applicant’s passport, valid for no less than six months from the date of expiration. The passport must have at least three blank pages.</p>
<p>- One recent individual passport-sized photograph, full frontal, white background.</p>
<p>- One visa application form, duly filled out, signed by the applicant (parents must sign for minors under 18 years old). The application form can be filled out on the site <a href="https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/frscedv" target="_blank">https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/frscedv</a> and must be printed out, on sheet size A4.</p>
<p>- Proof of residence in the area of <a href="http://www.brazilshanghai.cn:81/">jurisdiction</a> of the Consulate General, if the applicant’s passport has been issued elsewhere in China.<br />
<em> </em></p>
<p>- Original invitation letter from a Brazilian company, on their letterhead or stationary, with CNPJ number (tax registration code), address and telephone, signed by a senior manager, addressed to the Consulate General in Shanghai, attesting that the applicant’s trip to Brazil is of a short-term nature, and that the goal of the trip is strictly for business meetings, not involving any technical assistance.</p>
<p>- Original letter from the employer or sponsoring company in China, on the company’s letterhead or stationary, stating employee’s name and title, how long he has been working with the company, contact in Brazil, description of the job to be conducted Brazil, and assuring that the employee will not perform any technical work nor will be paid in Brazil,  assuming full responsibility for the applicant while in Brazil and that the applicant will not exceed the legally authorized stay per visit. The letter must be signed by a senior manager and his/her name and title must be transcribed in Pinyin. (<strong>NOTE</strong>: if the applicant is self-employed, he must also present a copy of the company certificate).</p>
<p>- Commercial,documentary or publicity filming requires a special authorization from the Brazilian National Cinema Agency (ANCINE) , to be obtained directly by a Brazilian partner/co-producer. Once ANCINE’s approval to film is granted, the relevant authorization is relayed to the Consulate General in the applicant’s country of residence, either by ANCINE itself or by the Brazilian co-producer. Upon receipt of the authorization and presentation of the applicant’s passport, together with the application form, the Consulate General will issue the visa.</p>
<p><strong>NOTE: </strong>The requirements listed above should not, in any way, be considered all-inclusive. The Consulate General may request additional information, as deemed necessary.</p>
<p><strong> NOTE:</strong> please do not purchase an air ticket before a visa has been successfully granted, if purchase and subsequent cancellation could result in financial loss.</p>

<p><strong>Eligibility:<br />
</strong>* Pursue scientific and/or technological activities under the umbrella of an international cooperation program.</p>
<p>* Pursue professorial studies/research and/or scientific/technological activities at a university, research institute or similar organization.</p>
<p>* As a student trainee/unpaid intern benefiting from a scholarship under the umbrella of a program sponsored by a Brazilian governmental agency, an international organization, or an authorized exchange student’s institution.</p>
<p>* Receive training in Brazil as a young amateur athlete (under 21 year old athletes).</p>
<p>* Receive technical training in the operation and/or maintenance of machinery or equipment produced in Brazil.</p>
<p>* Community services and volunteering activities.</p>
<p>* Medical treatment in Brazil.</p>
<p>Whenever planned stay exceeds 90 days, VISA I holders  must register with the Brazilian Immigration Authority (Federal Police – DPMAF) within 30 days from first arrival in the country, by submitting the passport along with an original visa application form that will be returned to the applicant by the Consulate General.</p>
<p>Visa I holders are prohibited from holding any paid job in Brazil. A professor, scientist, or researcher pursuing activities at a university, research institute or similar organization is allowed to be paid a “pro labore” by a Brazilian party for short term activities (no longer than 30 days). Scholarship payment by a Brazilian party is otherwise permitted. Payment of travel, accommodation and living expenses is permitted, where applicable.</p>
<p>Brazilian documents to be presented must be notarized in Brazil. Chinese documents must be notarized by FAO and legalized by the Consulate General. Legalization fee will apply.</p>
<p>This type of visa requires prior authorization from the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations. Consultation fee will apply.</p>
<p><strong>Requirements:<br />
</strong>- Applicant’s passport, valid for no less than six months from the date of expiration. The passport must have  at least 3 blank visa pages;</p>
<p>- One recent individual passport-sized photograph, full frontal, white background.</p>
<p>- One visa application form, duly filled out, signed by the applicant (parents must sign for minors under 18 years old). <p>a) original birth certificate;</p>
<p>b) a legalized letter of consent signed by both parents or legal guardian(s).</p>
<p>- If the applicant is of criminally liable age, and whenever the intended stay exceeds 90 days, a recent non-criminal record, legalized by the Foreign Affairs Office (FAO).</p>
<p><strong>Additional requirements, as applicable:<br />
</strong><em>For scientific and/or technological activities under the umbrella of an international cooperation program:<br />
</em>a)	copy of the international agreement,</p>
<p>b)	proof of professional expertise and</p>
<p>c)	a letter from the sponsoring organization:</p>
<p>- informing activities to be pursued by the applicant;</p>
<p>- attesting its responsibility for repatriation of the applicant (and his/her family, if the case) once the visa expires or the agreement ceases to exist, and</p>
<p>- stating that the applicant will not receive any payment from a Brazilian part.</p>
<p><em>For professorial, research or scientific activities:<br />
</em>a) a letter from the Brazilian sponsoring organization informing activities to be pursued, pecuniary conditions, and – whenever applicable – a copy of the “Portaria” (Ordinance) that authorizes such research activities.</p>
<p>Please note that:<br />
- the collection of biological and mineral material requires prior authorization by the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq);</p>
<p>-  carrying out activities in indigenous areas requires prior authorization from the Fundação Nacional do Índio (FUNAI).</p>
<p><em>For exchange students:<br />
</em>a)	a letter from school, college or university in Brazil confirming student’s enrollment or acceptance, and informing the duration of studies.</p>
<p>b)	proof of financial capability to pay for the stay in Brazil;</p>
<p>c)	a letter from the sponsoring Brazilian exchange student program organization, stating the student’s inclusion in the program, name and location of the educational institution, as well as the address, names and qualification of responsible parties of “hosting family” in Brazil.</p>
<p>d)	copy of the Brazilian exchange student program organization bylaws, and its Cadastro Nacional de Pessoal Jurídicas. – CNPJ.</p>
<p><em>For interns:<br />
</em>a) a copy of agreement (“termo de compromisso”) between the intern and the Brazilian organization or institution, attesting to the conditions for internship, scholarship and the required involvement of a Brazilian government agency, international cooperation organization, or authorized exchange organization (in this case, attach a copy of its bylaws (social statutes – “estatuto social”), official registration and Cadastro Nacional de Pessoas Jurídicas – CNPJ).</p>
<p><em>For athletic training:<br />
</em>a)	copy of agreement/contract  with the Brazilian organization, where training will take place. The agreement, that can be up to 12 months, must state the availability of:</p>
<p>- place of training;</p>
<p>- room and board, as well as any additional living expenses.</p>
<p>b)	copy of document(s) attesting to the following: confirmation of training for applicant for a specified period, maintenance conditions and guarantee of repatriation of applicant once the visa expires.</p>
<p><em>For technical training on the operation or maintenance of equipment or machines made in Brazil:<br />
</em>a)	a letter from the employer, attesting to the fact that the applicant will not receive salary or  payment of any kind by a Brazilian party,</p>
<p>b)	 a letter  from the Brazilian company where the training will take place informing the nature of the training to be provided and attesting to the fact that it will be hold responsible for the applicant while in Brazil.</p>
<p>* Both letters must  be on the company’s letterhead or stationary.</p>
<p><em>For community services and volunteering activities:<br />
</em>a)	document proving applicant’s professional experience or qualification compatible with activities to be carried out in Brazil;</p>
<p>b)	letter of invitation issued by the Brazilian sponsoring organization, attesting to the conditions of the trip – pecuniary conditions, type of services to be provided, and locations where volunteering will be pursued;</p>
<p>c)	written statement from the Brazilian sponsoring organization guaranteeing maintenance of volunteer in Brazil and his/her repatriation at term;</p>
<p>d)	term of responsibility from the Brazilian sponsoring organization guaranteeing payment of all hospital and medical expenses of applicant and his/her dependents while staying in Brazil;</p>
<p>e)	copy of the Brazilian sponsoring organization by-laws (that is, social statutes,  “estatuto social”);</p>
<p>f)	act in which the organization’s directors were nominated, and proof that it is in existence;</p>
<p>g)	copy of the Brazilian sponsoring organization’s registration at the “Conselho de Assistência Social” or whenever applicable, certificate qualifying as an organizations of public interest issued by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice.</p>
<p><em> Notes:<br />
</em>-	all Brazilian documents must be notarized in Brazil;</p>
<p>-	all Chinese documents must be legalized by the Consulate General (legalization fees apply);</p>
<p>-	all documents received will be relayed to the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations for approval.</p>
<p><em>Medical treatment in Brazil:<br />
</em>a)	a letter from the applicant’s medical doctor recommending the treatment,</p>
<p>b)	proof of financial capability fro the treatment and maintenance during stay in Brazil;</p>
<p>c)	copy of a Brazilian or international health insurance valid for the treatment in Brazil.</p>
