Eligibility:
* Family Reunion. The following are eligible to apply for a permanent visa in order to join an immediate family member (Brazilian citizen or holder of a Brazilian permanent visa):
- Spouse;
- Unmarried child, under 21 years of age;
- Unmarried child, under 24 years of age, attending college or pursuing graduate/post-graduate studies. Please note that eligibility in this case depends on reciprocity of conditions ruling same circumstances in country of citizenship;
- Incapacitated child;
- Unmarried orphan sibling, grandchild, or great-grandchild, under 24 years of age, attending college or pursuing graduate/post-graduate studies. Please note that eligibility in this case depends on reciprocity of conditions ruling the same circumstances in country of citizenship;
- Incapacitated sibling, grandchild, or great-grandchild;
- Parents, if financial dependency can be formally proved.
Registration with the Brazilian Immigration Authority (Federal Police – DPMAF) is mandatory, within 30 days from first arrival in the country, by submitting the passport along with an original visa application form that will be returned to the applicant by the Consulate General.
Original Brazilian documents to be presented must be notarized in Brazil. Original Chinese documents must be notarized by FAO and legalized by the Consulate General. Legalization fee applies. All documents must be presented with two copies. Photocopies of documents will only be accepted if authenticated. Authentication fee applies if authenticated by the Consulate General.
This type of visa requires prior authorization from the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations.

For applications for this typo of visa, a two-stage procedure applies.
Requirements:
1) From the sponsor (Brazilian national or permanent resident in Brazil):
- Photocopy of the Brazilian identification card;
- Photocopy of the CPF (Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas);
- Term of responsibility signed before a Brazilian Public Notary or at the Consulate General stating that he/she will be financially responsible for the applicant.
2) From the applicant:
- Marriage certificate or birth certificate
- Photocopy of the identifying pages of the passport;
- A recent non-criminal record, notarized by the Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) and legalized by the Consulate General. Legalization fee applies;
- Proof of residence, for at least one year, in the area of jurisdiction of the Consulate General, if the applicant’s passport has been issued elsewhere in China;
- One recent individual passport-sized photograph, full frontal, white background.
- One visa application form, duly filled out, signed by the applicant (parents must sign for minors under 18 years old). The application form can be filled out on the site https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/frscedv and must be printed out, on sheet size A4.
Please note:
i) for Brazilian sponsors, copy of the marriage certificate drawn by a Notary, if the wedding took place in Brazil. If the marriage was performed outside Brazil, copy of the “Certidão de Registro de Casamento”, drawn by the Brazilian Consulate (or by the Consular Service of the Brazilian Embassy) that has jurisdiction over the state or province where the wedding took place and
ii) For non Brazilian applicants, if also applying for the visa to immediate family members or to one other eligible family member, presentation, as applicable, of applicant’s marriage certificate, birth certificate, or official court or state-issued document attesting to those eligibility conditions.
Once informed by the Consulate General that application has been approved, the visa will be issued. Applicant must submit to the Consulate General.
For the permanent visa which has got a prior issue from Brazil:
Applicant:
- Non-criminal record certificate
Spouse:
- Non criminal record Certificate
- Marriage Certificate
Offspring:
- Birth Certificate
- Non criminal record Certificate (older than 18 )
Parents:
- Birth certificate of the applicant
Note: all the certificates should be legalized by the Brazilian consulate or embassy. The marriage certificate and the non-criminal record certificate have only 3 months’ validity from the issue of the document.
