VITEM V: Temporary Visa V (Work Visa)

Eligibility:
* Provision of services of any nature, including intra - company.
* Work under a Brazilian-ruled employment contract.
* Provision of technical assistance services, such as installation, assembling and/or repair of machines/equipment sold to a Brazilian company.
* Employees of foreign corporations to work as trainees or interns at their subsidiaries in Brazil.
* Crew members and other oil/gas specialists providing services within Brazilian waters.
* Crew members serving aboard a fishing vessel chartered by a Brazilian company.
* Crew members aboard a cruise ship operating in Brazil waters.
* Medical residence.

Whenever planned stay exceeds 90 days, VISA I holders must register with the Brazilian Immigration Authority (Federal Police – DPMAF) within 30 days from first arrival in the country, by submitting the passport along with an original visa application form that will be returned to the applicant by the Consulate General.

Requirements:
All Applicantes for work visas must be presented in Brazil, by the Brazilian Interested party, to the Local Office of Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE).

After the Ministry of Labor and Employment informs the Consulate General of it’s approval of a specific request, the Consulate may proceed with the processing of the respective work visa.

Once approved by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, the following requirements for a work visa have to be met:

- Applicant’s passport, valid for no less than six months from the date of expiration. The passport must have at least 3 blank visa pages;

- One recent individual passport-sized photograph, full frontal, white background.

- One visa application form, duly filled out, signed by the applicant (parents must sign for minors under 18 years old). The application form can be filled out on the site https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/frscedv and must be printed out, on sheet size A4.

- Whenever the intended stay exceeds 90 days, a recent non-criminal record, notarized by the Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) and legalized by the Consulate General. Legalization fee applies.

- The dependent of the applicant:
Spouse
- Non criminal record Certificate
- Marriage Certificate
Offspring
- Birth Certificate
- Non criminal record Certificate (older than 18 )
Parents
- Birth certificate of the applicant

NOTE: all the certificates should be legalized by the Brazilian consulate or embassy. The marriage certificate and the non-criminal record certificate have only 3 months’ validity from the issue of the document
