Eligibility:
To attend courses at schools or universities registered at the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) in Brazil.
Whenever planned stay exceeds 90 days, VISA IV holders must register with the Brazilian Immigration Authority (Federal Police – DPMAF) within 30 days from first arrival in the country, by submitting the passport along with an original visa application form that will be returned to the applicant by the Consulate General.
The student visa will be issued for a maximum of one year. It may be extended in Brazil at the discretion of the Brazilian Immigration authority (Federal Police: DPMAF), if requested at least 30 days prior to the expiration of the authorized stay (special requirements apply), according to the duration of the study and documentation presented to local authority.
Bearers of Student Visa are not allowed to work.
Brazilian documents to be presented must be notarized in Brazil. Chinese documents must be notarized by FAO and legalized by the Consulate General. Legalization fee will apply.
This type of visa requires prior authorization from the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations. Consultation fee will apply.
Requirements:
- Applicant’s passport, valid for no less than six months from the date of expiration. The passport must have at least 3 blank visa pages;
- One recent individual passport-sized photograph, full frontal, white background.
- One visa application form, duly filled out, signed by the applicant (parents must sign for minors under 18 years old). The application form can be filled out on the site https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/frscedv and must be printed out, on sheet size A4.
- Proof of residence, for at least one year, in the area of jurisdiction of the Consulate General, if the applicant’s passport has been issued elsewhere in China.
- Minors under 18 years of age:
a) original birth certificate;
b) a legalized letter of consent signed by both parents or legal guardian(s).
- If the applicant is of criminally liable age, and whenever the intended stay exceeds 90 days, a recent non-criminal record, legalized by the Foreign Affairs Office (FAO). The non-criminal record has a 3 months’ validity from the issue of the document.
- Proof of means of support
- Documented proof of enrollment, indicating duration of studies.
